Answer: Patmos
The first chapter of Revelation states where John wrote down this vision.
"I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ."
This is the only place in the Bible where Patmos is mentioned. Patmos is a rather small Greek island, relatively near the Turkish coast.

Answer: To show His servants what will soon take place
Although many consider the book of Revelation a scary subject, because it has things that many people find hard to interpret and concerns the future, Revelation was actually meant to be a book of hope for God's people. Christians believe that God wanted his servants, churches, and people, to be aware that He would come back, expecting them to be ready. He also wanted to comfort them of the evil times that were ahead, because many would suffer and some would die for their faith. He also includes the message of heaven, a wonderful place where no tears, sorrow, or death will be for the people that have served God faithfully. John wrote that whoever hear the words of this book and take to heart its words would be blessed. (Revelation 1:1-3)

Answer: A woman
"A great and wondrous sign appeared in Heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth." (Rev 12:1-2)
Interpretation: This woman is a picture of the faithful body of believers, both in Old Testament times, and continuing all the way through into the gospel age in which we live, and until the end of time. The symbolism is like Joseph's dream in Genesis 37 "... the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me", which can be seen as the seed of Abraham, the father of all believers. The crown of twelve stars represents how the Church will share in the kingship of Christ. It was pregnant by being the body through which Christ, the Messiah, will be born into his human body in Bethlehem.

Answer: Beast
There are actually two Beasts in Revelation, one from the sea (Chapter 13) and one from the earth (Chapter 17), who is also called the false prophet. Both are defeated in battle against a figure which is generally accepted as being Jesus Christ. These figures have been the subject of much speculation as to what they represent, as Revelation is a highly symbolic piece of writing! Some eschatologists believe they refer to events that had already happened at the time the book was written, others have attempted to link them with various historical figures, some believe that they are a prediction of the future.

From Quiz: The Book of Revelation
Answer: The isle of Patmos
John had been exiled to the isle of Patmos for his faith in Jesus. The isle was a place where many crazy people and criminals were sent. John had been boiled in oil, but it did not kill him. Finally he was banished to live among the criminals in hopes that he would die. In his circumstances though, John remained faithful to God and was communing with God, when God appeared and told him to write what he heard and saw.
John wrote in his letter to the churches, "I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea." (Revelation 1:9-11)
From Quiz: BBB Bible Series: Revelation
Answer: a church
In writing to the Corinthians, Paul refers to the church as a woman who is married to one husband (2 Cor.11:2). He uses similar imagery in Ephesians 5:22-35. This is in keeping with Jeremiah 6:2 and Isaiah 51:16.
From Quiz: Biblical Brain Teasers
Answer: An enormous red dragon
"Then another sign appeared in Heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born." (Rev 12:3-4)
Interpretation: The dragon is Satan, the devil, the serpent of Genesis 3. According to the Bible, Satan is not a mythological bogeyman with horns and a tail. He is Lucifer, the greatest of the angels, a created being who has fallen from Heaven and taken a third of the angels with him. He is described here as a red dragon, imagery of something fierce and oppressive. The seven crowns on seven heads represent his rule over this world, but that rule is limited by what God will allow. The seven horns symbolise his ability to destroy. The child is the Messiah, Jesus Christ, whose work on Earth Satan wants to destroy. Satan wants to be the creator, but he can only destroy. The woman is the community of believers, the Church into which the Messiah is born.

From Quiz: The Last Book of the Bible: Revelation
Answer: The plague's lethality
Both in the fifth and the sixth trumpet, those humans not having the Seal of God are affected by a plague transmitted by creatures who appear like riders, with a breastplate, lions' teeth and a golden mane, transmitting the disease by the sting of their tails. Both descriptions involve heavy amounts of sulfurous smoke (from the earth and the mouths of the creatures respectively).
However, the fifth trumpet plague is painful but nonlethal ("They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. [...] During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them", Revelation 9:5-6) while the sixth trumpet plague has a high casualty rate ("A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.", Revelation 9:18).

Revelation 13:16-18 says all will be required to receive a mark in the right palm or on the forehead. This is called the mark of the beast, number of the beast or sometimes the name of the beast. Some people believe that such things as Social Security numbers or the much-discussed National ID cards could be the required "Mark of the Beast". In the case of the social security numbers, they are required for filing income tax forms in the US. The national ID cards are a possible response for protection after the September 11th attacks on the nation.

Answer: Michael and his angels
"And there was war in Heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in Heaven. The great dragon was hurled down - that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." (Rev 12:7-9)
Interpretation: These prophecies are like the visions of Daniel showing that there is a relationship between time and eternity. What happens on the Earth affects what happens in the heavenly realms. Michael the Archangel is described in Daniel 12 as "the great prince who protects your people". Satan has lost his position in Heaven as the accuser because of the work of Christ on earth: his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Michael's victory in Heaven is unleashed by Christ's redemptive work here on earth.
