The first chapter of Revelation states where John wrote down this vision.
"I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ."
This is the only place in the Bible where Patmos is mentioned. Patmos is a rather small Greek island, relatively near the Turkish coast.

The crown of twelve stars represents how the Church will share in the kingship of Christ. The woman is the community of believers, the Church into which the Messiah is born.

However, the fifth trumpet plague is painful but nonlethal ("They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. Satan has lost his position in Heaven as the accuser because of the work of Christ on earth: his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Michael's victory in Heaven is unleashed by Christ's redemptive work here on earth.
